Nikola Jokic is the ‘fastest player in the NBA’ in one area claims Partizan coach, ‘it’s a miracle’

Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic has been praised by one of Serbia’s top coaches.

Despite not winning the MVP award in 2024-25, there was no disputing the incredible performances Nikola Jokic served up on a regular basis.

Jokic averaged a triple-double, making the rare feat look routine, and led an injury-hit Denver Nuggets squad to a Game 7 against eventual champions OKC.

Teammate Peyton Watson recently talked about Jokic’s fun-loving approach behind-the-scenes, but the intelligence of his game has also received praise this week.

Zeljko Obradovic on Nikola Jokic

Partizan basketball coach Zeljko Obradovic has been talking about what makes Nikola Jokic so special in comparison to his peers.

Obradovic told the Kurir newspaper in Serbia: “Nikola Jokic is the fastest player in the world ‘in his head’. He sees everything before anyone else. The man is a computer. He plays chess.

“It’s incredible how he plays. That’s why he differs from everyone on the court.”

Referring to Jokic’s penchant for effortlessly scoring from beyond half-court, Obradovic added: “It’s not by chance that he takes those shots, he takes them because he works on them.”

Obradovic went on to discuss the key difference that separates Jokic from other talented players, citing his work ethic.

“If you’re talented and you work, then it’s a miracle. That’s Jokic .”

Nikola Jokic’s love for basketball

Nikola Jokic has been a curiosity for American audiences thanks to his indifferent approach in interviews.

Jokic spends time in the offseason back in Serbia enjoying his love of horse racing, and he was pictured in tears last month after one of his horses won a race.

Despite this, Obradovic believes it is wrong to question Jokic’s passion for basketball, and says the star’s only dislike is the media.

“That’s the best player in the world. He loves basketball. He lives basketball.

“He’s annoyed by the press and doesn’t want to talk about it. You can see in every movement in the game how dedicated he is to basketball.”

Jokic was in action for Serbia in their recent friendly match, scoring 23 points and grabbing 19 rebounds.
