Gamecocks in the MiLB Update – July 18 – University of South Carolina Athletics


The 2026 Minor League Baseball season is heading into the start of the second half in most leagues. Here’s what the Gamecocks on the Farm have done in the first half of the MiLB season.

Triple A

  • Jonah Bride has played in 80 games with Round Rock, the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. He is hitting .271 with 55 runs scored, 16 doubles, nine home runs and 46 RBI while sporting an .807 OPS.
  • Brett Kerry has made 18 appearances with 15 starts for Salt Lake, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. He has 79 strikeouts in 81 innings pitched with three wins on the year.
  • Will Sanders is 5-2 with a 4.94 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 54.2 innings pitched for Iowa, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. Sanders has made 14 appearances with 12 starts and a 1.46 WHIP.
  • TJ Shook is 3-2 with a 3.52 ERA for Albuquerque, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Shook has 41 strikeouts in 38.1 innings pitched and is holding opponents to a .232 batting average.

Double A

  • Thomas Farr has appeared in 20 games for Chattanooga, the Double-A affiliate of Cincinnati. Farr has pitched in 28 innings and has a win and a save for the Lookouts.
  • James Hicks has made 15 starts for Corpus Christi, the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. Hicks has four wins and 66 strikeouts in 74.1 innings pitched while sporting a 1.36 WHIP.
  • Eli Jones has a pair of wins for Wichita, the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Jones has made 13 appearances with 12 starts and has 55 strikeouts in 55.1 innings pitched. He currently is on the Injured 7-Day list.
  • Daniel Lloyd has a win and 22 strikeouts in 25.2 innings pitched for Chesapeake, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Lloyd currently is on the Injured 60-Day list.
  • Jack Mahoney has made 12 starts for Hartford, the Double-A affiliate of the Rockies. Mahoney has six wins, a 2.02 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 58 innings pitched. Mahoney was named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week on June 14.
  • Cole Messina has played in 60 games for Hartford, the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Messina has 30 runs scored, 13 doubles, four home runs and 26 RBI.
  • Ethan Petry has 14 home runs in pro ball this season, currently playing for Harrisburg, the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. He has 33 runs scored, 41 RBI and five stolen bases in 2026.
  • Chris Veach is 2-2 with a 2.01 ERA for Somerset, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Veach has two saves and 33 strikeouts in 22.1 innings pitched. He currently is on the Injured 60-Day list.
  • Braylen Wimmer is hitting .254 with 23 runs scored for Hartford, the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Wimmer has seven doubles, a triple, a home run and 17 RBI this year.

High A

  • Cade Austin has made seven appearances for Beloit, the High-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Austin has 13 strikeouts in 11.2 innings pitched. He currently is on the Injured 60-Day list.
  • Colin Burgess has played in 53 games for Rome, the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Burgess has 16 runs scored, five doubles, two home runs and 16 RBI this season.
  • Garrett Gainey is 3-2 in 16 appearances and nine starts for Bowling Green, the High-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Gainey has a save and 55 strikeouts in 52.2 innings pitched.
  • Noah Hall has three wins for Brooklyn, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets. In 18 appearances and 15 starts, Hall has struck out 86 batters in 82.1 innings pitched.
  • Eli Jerzembeck is 5-3 in the Chicago Cubs organization, most recently with South Bend, the Cubs’ High-A affiliate. Jerzembeck has 37 strikeouts in 31.2 innings pitched in 16 appearances and four starts.

Low A

  • Nathan Hall has not made an appearance while on the Injured List for Visalia, the Low-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Rookie

  • Matthew Becker has split time between Fort Myers and the Minnesota Twins rookie affiliate in Florida. He is 1-0 with six strikeouts in two appearances.

Independent

  • Eddy Demurias has six wins for Hagerstown of the Atlantic League. Demurias has 77 strikeouts in 78.1 innings pitched.
  • Ty Good has made 10 starts for the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League. Good has 51 strikeouts in 53.2 innings pitched.
  • Andrew Peters has made 10 appearances for New Jersey in the Frontier League. He has 34 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched.
  • Braden Webb has pitched in 6.2 innings for Gastonia of the Atlantic League. Webb has eight strikeouts on the season.
